Privacy Policy
UniAfriX Ltd is committed to safeguarding the privacy and personal data of all individuals who interact with the Platform. This Policy is issued in compliance with the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and applies to all data processing activities conducted by UniAfriX Ltd.

1. Data Controller
The data controller responsible for your personal data is UniAfriX Ltd, Ejisu, Ashanti Region, Ghana. Our designated Data Protection Officer ("DPO") can be contacted at legal@uniafrix.com for all data-related enquiries, requests, and complaints.
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of data when you use the Platform: 2.1 Identity & Contact Data • Username and display name • Registered email address • Date of birth (for age verification purposes) • Country or region of residence • Linked social media handles and profile data (where you choose to connect third-party accounts) 2.2 Performance & Gaming Data • Player statistics, match history, and tournament performance records • In-game performance metrics, including Kill/Death ratios, win rates, and ranking scores • Team affiliations, competitive history, and game-specific identifiers (e.g. PSN ID, Xbox Gamertag, Steam ID) 2.3 Financial Data • UAX token transaction history (deposits, withdrawals, prize receipts, entry fee payments) • We do not collect or store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other sensitive payment data. All such data is processed exclusively by our third-party payment processors. 2.4 Technical & Device Data • IP address and approximate geolocation derived therefrom • Device type, operating system, and browser information • Anti-cheat telemetry data collected during active Platform sessions, including performance outliers and software environment signatures • Platform usage logs, session duration, and feature interaction data 2.5 Communications Data • Records of your communications with UniAfriX support or integrity teams • Appeal submissions and associated evidence
3. Lawful Basis for Processing
UniAfriX processes your personal data on the following lawful bases as defined under the Ghana Data Protection Act (Act 843): • Contract Performance: Processing necessary for the performance of this Agreement and the provision of Platform services. • Legitimate Interests: Processing necessary for UniAfriX's legitimate interests, including fraud prevention, platform security, and improving our services, provided such interests are not overridden by your rights and interests. • Legal Obligation: Processing necessary for compliance with a legal obligation, including disclosure to law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required. • Consent: Where we rely on your consent (e.g. for marketing communications), you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time.
4. Use of Your Data
UniAfriX uses your personal data for the following purposes: • To register your account and verify your identity and eligibility • To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the matchmaking, tournament, and leaderboard services • To process tournament entry fees, calculate prize distributions, and manage UAX token transactions • To calculate and display global player rankings, regional leaderboards, and performance analytics • To generate anonymised and aggregated audience insights for brand partners, event sponsors, and tournament organisers, for the purpose of measuring event reach and return on investment • To detect, investigate, and prevent cheating, fraud, collusion, and other violations of this Agreement and the Anti-Cheat & Fair Play Policy • To send service-related communications, including account notifications, security alerts, and policy updates • To respond to your enquiries, support requests, and formal appeals • To comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure
UniAfriX respects your right to privacy. We do not sell your personal identity data to third parties. We may share your data in the following limited circumstances: • Service Providers: We engage trusted third-party service providers to assist in operating the Platform, including payment processors (Paystack, Flutterwave), cloud infrastructure providers, and anti-cheat technology partners. These providers are contractually obligated to process your data only on our instructions and in accordance with applicable data protection law. • Sponsors & Brand Partners: We may share anonymised, aggregated performance and demographic data with verified tournament sponsors and brand partners for event measurement purposes. No personally identifiable information is shared without your prior explicit consent. • Game Publishers: Where necessary for match verification, we may share relevant match identifiers and in-game data with applicable game publishers (e.g. Sony, Microsoft, Activision) in accordance with their respective APIs. • Legal & Regulatory Authorities: We may disclose your personal data to competent authorities, law enforcement agencies, or regulators where required by applicable law, a valid court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of UniAfriX, its users, or the public. • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of the assets of UniAfriX Ltd, your personal data may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to the same privacy protections described in this Policy.
6. Data Security
UniAfriX implements appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, accidental loss, destruction, or alteration. These measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is entirely secure, and UniAfriX cannot guarantee absolute security. You are encouraged to use a strong, unique password and to enable two-factor authentication on your account.
7. Data Retention
7.1 UniAfriX retains your personal data for as long as your account remains active and for such additional period as is necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. 7.2 Financial transaction records are retained for a minimum of five (5) years following the date of the transaction, in accordance with applicable financial record-keeping requirements. 7.3 Anti-cheat telemetry and investigation records related to confirmed violations are retained indefinitely to support the integrity of the permanent ban system. 7.4 Upon account closure, identifiable personal data will be deleted or anonymised within ninety (90) days, subject to the exceptions outlined above.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law and certain exceptions, you have the following rights in respect of your personal data: • Right of Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data UniAfriX holds about you. • Right to Rectification: You have the right to request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data. • Right to Erasure: You have the right to request deletion of your personal data where it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to our legal retention obligations. • Right to Restriction: You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your data in certain circumstances, such as while a dispute regarding the accuracy of your data is resolved. • Right to Object: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data on the basis of legitimate interests, including for direct marketing purposes. • Right to Data Portability: You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. To exercise any of these rights, please submit a written request to our DPO at legal@uniafrix.com. We will respond to all verified requests within thirty (30) days. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
9. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
UniAfriX uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your Platform experience, maintain session state, and collect usage analytics. You may manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform.
